CONYERS, Ga. -- Police in Conyers said an attempted robbery suspect tried to make a clean getaway by doing laundry nearby. It didn't work

A police report states that officers responded to Cash America Pawn at 1423 Dogwood Drive on Wednesday at around 1 p.m. on reports of a man attempting to smash through a glass case to steal guns.

He was unsuccessful and ran from the store before police arrived. After receiving a description, police began searching for him. And soon they found him - at the Motel 6 at 1351 Dogwood Drive. That's where a motel employee said there was a man "acting strange" up on the second floor near the laundry room.

He was in the laundry room on the second floor of the motel. Further investigation showed that he had left a bookbag with clothes inside and a pair of shoes hidden between a washing machine and the wall. Those clothing items matched the descriptions from the pawn shop. The suspect, Isiah Hill, also wasn't wearing shoes when confronted by police. A hotel employee later confirmed that Hill was the man he had previously seen running nearby.

Hill currently faces one count of criminal intent robbery.
