MILTON, Ga. – Police have arrested a man for possession of child pornography following a tip that resulted into a criminal investigation.

Kendall L. Bowen was taken into custody without incident and booked into on May 3.

Following a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the Milton Police Department began an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Milton resident for Possession of Child Pornography.

During a criminal investigation, detectives said Bowen was the sole occupant of a relatively remote residence. A search warrant was issued for all electronic devices located at Bowen's residence and was executed May 3 by members of Milton Police Criminal Investigations Division and Uniform Patrol.

Numerous electronic devices, including a laptop in use at the time the warrant was executed, were seized and taken from the house.

In addition to the open, child pornographic images found on the laptop, a preliminary search of one USB storage device recovered from the house yielded images of obvious child pornography. Milton Police detectives continue their review of the remaining USB images and electronic devices seized from Bowen's home.

"The investigation is ongoing and we will update the community as new information is available," said Milton Police Chief Rich Austin. "It's through partnerships with organizations like the NCMEC that local law enforcement are better positioned to protect and serve some of our most vulnerable residents, our children."

Bowen was charged with 12 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Milton Police continue the investigation and anticipate additional charges will be filed.
