HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- Hall County deputies located a stolen boat last week, but what they found inside of has left them puzzled.
Among the items was a prosthetic leg. Not just any prosthetic leg, but one that has a skull drawn on it.
Investigators said they called the manufacturer's number located inside of it, but due to HIPAA laws, they can't tell them the owner's name. However, they did say the owner is deceased.
Investigators posted a photo of the prosthetic on its Facebook page, hoping that someone will recognize it and can give them more information about the owner.
They believe all of the items inside of the boat are stolen. If they determine who the prosthetic leg belonged to, they hope it gives them clues to find out where the items came from.
The preliminary investigation in leads deputies to believe the crimes happened over the summer and occurred near Lake Lanier.
