DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Amid reported sightings, Dunwoody officials are warning creepy clowns that they are setting themselves up to get arrested - or hurt.

Dunwoody Police Lt. Fidel Espinoza released a video on social media late Wednesday explaining that the department had received information on alleged sightings in two Dunwoody neighborhoods late Wednesday - one suspect allegedly carrying a machete.

The first sighting was reported in the area of Old Spring House Lane and Chamblee-Dunwoody. The other was allegedly spotted off of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

"I was really hoping that this silly clown business wasn't going to end up in Dunwoody, but apparently that's not the case," Lt. Espinoza said.

Espinoza warned that these people are putting themselves in a position to get hurt, to hurt someone else or to get arrested.

"So we ask that you put away your clown outfits and do something a little bit more productive," he said.
