COBB COUNTY, Ga -- Police are investigating an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery that happened at two different locations late Friday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., police said a man walked inside the Dollar Tree at 3895 Cherokee Street in Kennesaw and approached a female employee as she put money in the cash register.

The man shoved the woman, police said, then sprayed her in the face with some sort of chemical before he took the money and ran away. He then headed for the wood line near the back of the shopping center.

The employee refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police said the man is possibly Hispanic, approximately 5'01" tall, in his late 20's to early 30's and has a "chubby" face. He was last seen wearing a dirty tan camouflage (or similar pattern) pants, a thigh length dark colored button down jacket with large pockets, and a brown wide brim hat.

About two hours later, police were called to the Flags Village Package Store located at 340 Riverside Parkway in Austell.

The employee told police two men entered the store. One of the men pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. The employee grabbed the weapon and the gun discharged. The bullet hit the wall.

The suspect pulled the trigger a second time, but the gun failed to fire, police said. The two men ran from the store towards the West Chase Apartment complex.

Police said both males were wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans. One wore white shoes, the other had on red. Both are believe to be 30 to 35 years old.
