ATLANTA - The FBI is asking the public to help identify a suspected bank robber.
Investigators said around 2:30 p.m., on Nov. 2, a man entered the Fidelity Bank at 1170 Highway 54 West, brandishing a semi-automatic handgun before giving a note to the teller stating he was robbing the bank. After taking the money, authorities said he left the scene in a white cargo style van with the right rear window covered in plastic.
On that same day, about 30 minutes earlier, investigators believe the suspected thief also cased the Bank of North Georgia, also located on Highway 54.
He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with a white stripe down each sleeve, dark-colored baseball hat, white tennis shoes and dark pants. He is described as a black man in his 30s-40s, 6’0” tall and 210-220 lbs., with a stocky build.
