Firefighters in Metro Atlanta were busy battling a few blazes early Friday morning.

The latest fire started around 4:30 Friday morning at 111 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. Atlanta Fire PIO Cortez Stafford said when firefighters arrived on scene the home was fully engulfed. They quickly worked to get the fire under control. While inside the home, one firefighter fell through the ceiling of the upper level of the home to the floor below. Stafford said, "The firefighter was checked out on scene by Grady and was not transported to the hospital. He had a possible leg injury but carried on with his duties after being checked out." No word on what sparked the blaze.

At around 3:30 a.m., firefighters were called to the area of woods along 2710 Bouldercrest road for a brush fire. No word on what sparked the blaze.

DeKalb firefighters responded to and abandoned apartment building on fire located at 2520 Candler Road at around 2:30 a.m. There were no injuries reported.
