ATLATNA – Police are looking for two men who fired a gun at employees during a robbery inside a SW Atlanta grocery story.
The incident happened on May 1 at approximately 4:27p.m., just moments before officers were dispatched to 759 Dill Ave SW in response to a person being shot at Big Daddy’s Grocery Store.
Surveillance video shows two black males entering the business wearing mask. The male carrying the weapon walks up to the counter, pointing the gun directly at the victim.
The other male then rips the cash register from the counter, and the two flee the location on foot.
According to police, the armed suspect then takes off his mask directly in front of the security camera, leans over the counter, and fired one gun shot at the victim.
When responding officers arrived to the scene, they met with an employee who just witnessed a coworker who was shot by a suspect.
The victim who is the store owner, was on the ground behind the counter and had been shot one time in his lower left leg with no exit wound. The victim was alert, conscious and breathing but was losing a lot of blood.
The victim was briefly treated at the scene but ultimately transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
A witness who was across the street from the location, advised she witnessed the two males running on Allene Ave SW and enter a newer model burgundy car.
The witness also said one of the male's was carrying something big and it was making a lot of noise. She further advised a female was in the driver's seat of the vehicle, waiting on the suspects.
Another witness who lives closer to the location where the suspect vehicle was parked, informed us that the vehicle was a red 2011 Toyota Camry with the license plate of RGK3387.
