The GBI is investigating the death of a two-month-old child in Telfair County.
According to Special Agent Lindsey Wilkes, the call came in around 11:05 a.m. Tuesday.
McRae-Helena Police Chief Glen Giles said it happened at a home on 9th Street and there were no signs of foul play.
Coroner Jarvis Barnes says she pronounced the child dead at the Dodge County emergency room.
Wilkes says an autopsy is scheduled at the GBI’s Crime Lab in Atlanta on Wednesday, but that it’s not being investigated as a mysterious death and the GBI is usually called to investigate child deaths.
