Routine construction work on Interstate 85 southbound became a nightmare for drivers Friday morning.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, two pieces of equipment broke down while building express lanes by Hamilton Mill.
One of the "pieces" referenced was a striping truck, which became immobile and blocked a left lane.
The construction snafu created a two and a half hour delay for commuters.
Earlier this years, construction was all prepared to end work on a beam at I-75 southbound at Wade Green Road when a crane experienced mechanical problems.
It took an hour-and-a-half to repair the crane and move away from the scene before traffic was reopened.
