GoFundMe established for lone survivor of crash that killed 3 teens

The surviving teen from last Friday night's fatal wreck in Norcross remains hospitalized at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

Seventeen-year-old Meadowcreek High School Senior Messiah Allen remains hospitalized at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville after last Friday night's wreck on Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross that killed three other teens.

Gwinnett County Police said a Toyota 4-Runner leaving a Meadowcreek High football game had to swerve to avoid another vehicle and crashed into a guardrail before striking a tree and going down an embankment.

Messiah lives with his father, Alexander Allen, who recently lost his job as a painter. As a self-employed contractor, Alexander has no insurance and currently has no means of paying Messiah's medical expenses.

Alexander says he cannot leave his son's side until he knows Messiah is out of danger, which makes it difficult to make ends meet.

"He woke up and that's one of the first things he asked about -- Did this person make it? Did that person make it?" Alexander said. "He's just crying and crying. He couldn't stop crying."

What makes Alexander stronger is the support from fellow Meadowcreek students. Still, he says he can't help but look at his son and think about the other grieving families.

"I just feel so bad for the parents of the boys who lost their lives," he said.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help generate funds to pay for Alexander and Messiah's expenses.
