ATLANTA, Ga – The restaurant owned by Atlanta Hawks’ star Dennis Schroder was recently cited for 21 health violations, including fruit flies in its kitchen and grease and food debris on the kitchen’s walls.
DS17, located on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, was inspected on Nov. 4, 2016, and received a “46,” or unsatisfactory, grade.
According to the report, Fulton County board of health inspectors also cited the restaurant for failing to store food properly in refrigerators and failing to provide thermometers in those units. Inspectors also found trash and garbage bags around the restaurant’s back door, and cited kitchen workers for failing to adequately wash their hands.
The restaurant received a “96” back in September.
Schroder, the Hawks’ starting point guard and one of the team’s most recognizable players, opened the restaurant in March 2016 as a joint venture with another partner.
Born in Germany, Schroeder was drafted by the Hawks in 201. He debuted with the team in 2013, and wears number "17."
