COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A police pursuit in Cobb County is being investigated by internal affairs after an officer fired shots during a foot chase.

The incident began as a traffic stop in Cobb County just before 10 p.m. but quickly escalated as the driver speeded away. The officer followed the vehicle down I-75 near Barrett Parkway until the suspect jumped out of the car and ran into the woods nearby.

Police confirmed that an officer did fire shots during the chase but no suspect was hit. Other officers also arrived to help and soon they managed to catch two suspects. One officer was taken to the hospital for observation.
