A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a Craigslist transaction ended in gunshots.
On September 30, 2016, Forsyth County Sheriff Deputies responded to the Kroger parking lot on Peachtree Parkway for a 911 call about a person shot. They found 57-year-old Eugene Ryerson sitting in the front seat of his pickup truck.
Ryerson told deputies he went to the Kroger parking lot to purchase tools from a man he met through Craigslist. He said he had purchased tools from the same man in the past without any problems.
But this time, during the transaction, Ryerson sustained a single gunshot wound to his right side.
Deputies identified the shooter as Robert Fredrick. When they served a search warrant at his Grayson home, they found small quantities of heroin, cocaine, and firearms.
Fredrick was charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery and aggravated assault. He was booked into the Forsyth County Jail where he is being held without bond.
He also faces a weapons charge and drug charges in Gwinnett County.
