LAGRANGE, Ga. -- A LaGrange high school football team is mourning the loss of one of their teammates who drowned over the weekend.
According to the LaGrange Police Department, Narquavious Tucker, 14, was swimming with other players from the LaGrange High School football team at the LaGrange College Natatorium on Saturday.
While the teens were in the pool, one of the players saw the 14-year-old's body in the bottom of the deep end of the pool and alerted coaching staff on-site.
Police said several players helped pull Tucker from the pool and life guards began performing CPR while emergency responders got to the scene.
Tucker was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center and later flown to CHOA, but doctors were unable to revive him. He died around midnight.
