ATLANTA — A man who died late Saturday after he was found alongside train tracks in Atlanta, has been identified by authorities.
According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, he has been identified as 21-year-old Isiah Gray. His cause of death remains pending.
Atlanta police investigators had asked the medical examiner's office to determine if Gray had been struck by a train, and if so, whether his death was accidental or possibly suicide.
Officers said an operator from a CSX train discovered Gray on the ground just before 6 a.m. Saturday near a railroad crossing at the intersection of Boulder Park Drive SW and Brownlee Road SW, just west of Interstate 285.
He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment to serious injuries to the head. At the time, Gray was described by police as being non-responsive but breathing at that time but ultimately died from his injuries.
It was not immediately known whether he was struck by a train or if he had been injured in a different way.
Following his death, police said they were still trying to determine the cause and manner of Gray's death.
