ATLANTA -- A man had to be transported to the hospital after gunfire broke out in a Northwest Atlanta neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

According to Atlanta Police, the adult victim was shot in the 3000 block of Delmar Lane NW around 2:40 p.m.

Officials said the victim was alert and conscious when they were transported Grady Hospital.

This is not the first time police have had to respond to this same neighborhood for violence.

In February, residents said gunfire erupted as children were boarding school buses in the same block on Delmar lane. Two people were shot in the incident, and one of those victims later died.

Days later, police returned to the same area for another shooting -- this time for a suspect who allegedly approached two people in a car and opened fire, killing one of them.

At this time, police are still looking into what led up to this most recent shooting. There are no suspects in custody.
