Man told nurses 'I will kill you' convicted of five counts of terroristic threats

John Wallace was convicted of five counts of terroristic threats by a Cobb County Jury on Thursday.

MARIETTA, Ga. – A man who screamed at nurses, “I will kill you, I will come with a gun and shoot you all,” last April was convicted late Thursday night.

John Wallace was convicted of five counts of terroristic threats by a Cobb County Jury on Thursday.

On April 21, 2017, Wallace entered Signature Healthcare of Marietta on Kennesaw Avenue enraged and screaming at the employees inside. Wallace apparently blamed the nurses for his sister’s death and threatened five employees while trying to force his way into a nurse’s station through a locked door, the District Attorney said in a statement.

Wallace was heard screaming, “I will kill you, I will come with a gun and shoot you all.” He was also banging loudly on counters and one employee who ran outside to contact 911 thought the noises could be gunshots.

Police arrested Wallace and said he continued to make threats while inside the patrol car.

On the stand, Wallace denied making threats and claimed the victims were “conspiring against him,” the statement said.

“The Defendant to this day refuses to acknowledge the real terror he caused,” said ADA Kim Schwartz, who prosecuted the case. “The quick and effective response of the Marietta Police prevented this Defendant from carrying out his threats.”

Wallace was sentenced to 10 years, with two years to serve and the rest on probation. Cobb Superior Court Judge Robert Flournoy warned Wallace, who is a native of Liberia, that he could be deported after his release from prison.
