MARIETTA, Ga. - A man is being charged with murder after he allegedly hit a moped and dragged the rider down the street.
Warrants revealed that Willie Frank Rainey hit the back of a moped on Jan. 29, causing both the rider and the moped to get wedged underneath the vehicle on South Cobb Drive, and proceeded to drag the victim down Spring Road.
Rainey received violations for following too closely and homicide by vehicle in the second degree.
The victim became dislodged from underneath the vehicle after which Rainey came to a stop. The victim later died in the hospital due to the injuries they sustained in the incident.
