30 residents displaced after town home fire

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

NORCROSS, GA - Gwinnett County Fire were dispatched to a townhouse fire at the Robinwood Condominiums located on the 2300 block of Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross, Ga at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Captain Justin Wilson with Gwinnett Fire said that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, however, the resident who called to report it did have a fire going in his fireplace at the time.

Jasmine Turner, a resident, said she knocked on her neighbor's door to make sure everyone was evacuated safely.

"It was a scary moment," Turner said. "Safety. I work with kids, I've been to first aid, CPR trained and fire safety and I just thought about the lives of other people and my kids and my family. I didn't want anybody to get injured."

"It was just something that was on my heart."

A total of eight units were impacted and 30 residents have been displaced.

The Red Cross is providing emergency assistance for those in need of essentials such as food, lodging and clothing.
