Cobb Co. transit buses back on schedule following morning delay

Cobb County Communications Department said the CobbLinc system was experiencing system-wide delays causing buses to run late.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – Passengers who use the CobbLinc Bus System daily might experience delays on Monday.

Cobb County Communications Department said the CobbLinc system was experiencing system-wide delays causing buses to run late Monday morning.

As of 3 p.m., a spokesperson said the buses are back to a 'fairly normal' routine ahead of evening rush hour.

Cobb County spokesperson Ross Cavitt said that extra drivers were called in to make up for the shortage that led to the delays. A majority of afternoon routes were expected to run as scheduled.

“We regret that our customers experienced disruptions to their schedules due to the unexpected shortage of bus operators today,” said Andrea Foard, CobbLinc Director. “We remain committed to providing quality, timely, and safe service to our customers and endeavor to assure similar disruptions do not occur in the future.”

Out of an abundance of caution, the CobbLinc system will run a Saturday schedule on Tuesday, That is with the exception of Paratransit and Express Bus routes which will keep to a normal schedule. CobbLinc’s Saturday schedule essentially runs the same routes, but starting later in the morning with less frequently arriving buses.

CobbLinc management is unaware of what caused a significant amount of drivers to not report for work today and had no advance notice that it would happen.

The delay affected everyone throughout the county and passengers are told to check the CobbLinc BusTime app for times.
