ATLANTA - Officers are investigating after a woman was shot in the face in an apartment located at 800 West Marietta.

Atlanta Police responded to a call of a person shot on Wednesday. When they arrived to the apartment, they found two women in the kitchen, one suffering from a gunshot wound to her face and neck and the other was pushing on the injured woman's wounds to stop the bleeding.

Officers also observed vomit and blood on the floor next to the victim's head.

The victim was not alert or conscious but she was breathing and officers called for EMS to transport her to Grady.

A gun that was found in the residence was taken by police who also found two men in a room behind the kitchen where they located the two women.

After interviewing the two men, officers determined that the person responsible for shooting the victim had already left the residence.

The alleged suspect’s name is Chaz Christian and witnesses say he was seen wearing a Finish Line shirt when he left the apartment.

Police are still investigating this incident and have been advised that the victim did not have any life-threatening injuries.
