Recall | Kroger test results positive for mold in Comforts baby water

The water is sold at Kroger grocery stores.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Comforts For Baby Purified Water with Fluoride Added has been recalled due to complaints about mold in the product.

One gallon jugs with sell dates between 4/26/2017 to 10/10/2018 have the risk of possible mold contamination.

Testing done by Kroger has revealed that the mold that is being found in the water is called Talaromyces penicillium.

The products were distributed in Kroger stores including Food 4 Less, Jay C, Jay C Food Plus, Kroger, Kroger marketplace, Owen's, Payless Super Market and Ruler stores in the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

Kroger has instructed their stores to remove the recalled product and if you have purchased this product, please return it to the store for a full refund.
