Newnan Police: Woman wanted for stealing credit cards, going on shopping spree

Police are asking for the public's help in trying to identify the female suspect.

NEWNAN, Ga. — Authorities in Newnan say a woman is wanted for stealing and using her victims credit cards to shop.

On Jan. 10, a victim told police she and her sister had just pulled up to the cemetery off Jefferson Street to put out fresh flowers at a grave site. When they got back to her car, her wallet was gone from her purse. She called police to report it the wallet and her credit cards stolen.

That same day, the female suspect was seen on video using the victim's credit card at two Newnan Kroger's, a Newnan Publix, another Publix in Coweta County and a Target in Peachtree City. All together, police said the woman racked up at least $3,000 in purchases.

But that wasn't the only time the suspect allegedly stole. Police said she stole a credit card from another victim and spent another $2,000.

Police are asking for the public's help in trying to identify the female suspect they said "wants everything for free," so they're hoping to give her a "free place to stay."
