NORCROSS, Ga. -- Norcross police are advising travelers to avoid the areas of Thrasher and Autry streets after a train collided with a semi-truck, Friday evening.

Norcross Sgt. Eric Butynski confirmed the semi was stuck on the railroad tracks on Holcomb Bridge Road. The train was traveling north and was not able to stop before hitting the truck.

The cargo trailer was carrying home furniture in the process of being moved. That trailer was split in half from the impact of the crash.

No injuries were reported but multiple cars were damaged in a nearby parking lot.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as they become available.
