According to DeKalb Co. Police, a homeowner was shot and killed during an ambush in the 500 block of Mountain Oaks Parkway, Stone Mountain.

The incident was called into DeKalb PD at 6:00 this morning.

A man was about to take his wife to work when they opened the garage door and three men were waiting for them outside. They ambushed the couple and killed the husband during the struggle. According to police, nothing was taken.

The victim's wife proceeded to run to a neighbors house to call 9-1-1.

The victim was identified as 47-year-old Phillip Lamar Davis.

Daphne Sinclarr, who told 11Alive that she was the sister of the wife, said that she was contacted by the wife before she called 9-1-1. "My sister lives a good life. Clean. She works everyday so I'm not sure exactly what's going on."

The suspects are still on the loose and investigators are interviewing witnesses. According to DeKalb PD, the neighborhood has a "very strong home owner's association" and this type of activity does not normally occur there.
