ATLANTA – Rapper Shawty Lo had painkillers on him when he died in a car crash last month, TMZ reports.

Shawty Lo, who was born Carlos Walker, was killed when his 2016 Audi flipped and crashed on Interstate 285 at the Cascade Road exit on Sept. 21.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Walker’s cause of death as “blunt force trauma to the head.”

According to TMZ, the Fulton County Medical Examiner said that a prescription bottle reportedly found on Walker was labeled Promethazine – a drug used to treat allergy symptoms – but actually was filled with painkillers Percocet and Vicodin.

Walker’s body bag also reportedly emitted a strong smell of alcohol, the medical examiner told TMZ.

Official toxicology results have not been released.

TMZ also reports that the medical examiner said that the two females who were in the vehicle with Walker at the time of the crash asked police officers on the scene if they could remove cash out of Walker’s pockets. The officers allegedly allowed the women to do so, leaving behind around $16, according to TMZ.

Those female passengers were treated and released from Grady Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Funeral services for Walker were held on Oct. 1. Before he was laid to rest, his body was taken to the Blue Flame Lounge, an adult club that he had been seen at the night of his fatal accident.
