ROSWELL, Ga. -- Roswell fire crews are working to push back heavy flames that erupted at an area business on Friday evening.
Fire department spokesperson Pabel Troche said they arrived at the corner of Bowen and Woodstock roads around 9 p.m. to find a gym on fire. They fire was so intense that entering the structure was next to impossible when they got to the location. So for about an hour, fire crews battled the flames in a defensive attack to get it under control.
During that time, smoke from the fire could be seen from a considerable distance. 11Alive viewer Rebekah Howerton took video late in the evening that showed a tower of black smoke billowing from the scene.
Despite the intensity, there were no reports of injuries and damage was contained to the one building. The cause is still under investigation.
