BARTOW COUNTY, Ga – Several people were injured Saturday afternoon in an accident that involved numerous motorcycles.

According to police, the accident happened at 12:13 pm on Highway 411 just north of I-75.

Emergency personnel found two people seriously injured. One man sustained abdominal and chest trauma as well as internal bleeding; he was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital.

A second victim, a woman, fractured her pelvis; she was also airlifted, but to Atlanta Medical Center.

A third victim, a man, suffered shoulder, knee and back pain, while a fourth victim, a female, was taken to a local hospital for back and rib pain.

A fifth victim, a man, was taken to a local hospital for ankle pain.

Police say several other motorcyclists involved refused further treatment for their injuries.

Highway 411 was shut down for a short period of time. Three ambulances responded to the scene.
