ATLANTA -- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport kicked off spring break with a ground stoppage, pushing them to the top of the flight "Misery Map."
The map, put together by FlightAware, tracks delays and cancelations. Atlanta was topping the list with more than 200 delays and cancelations Monday afternoon. The world's busiest airport was on a ground stoppage for a short time as the worst of the severe storm blew through Atlanta, including multiple tornado warnings throughout Metro Atlanta.
By the time the stoppage lifted at noon, the damage was done, putting a serious kink in the start of spring break travels.
Monday marked the beginning of spring break for most of Metro Atlanta schools including Atlanta Public Schools, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett County schools.
