NEWNAN, Ga – Police have released a sketch of a man suspected of trying to abduct a young girl from her home last week.

Around 1:30 on Nov. 22, police responded to reports of an attempted child abduction. The father of the child told police he saw the suspect talking with the girl and approached him. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the child by her coat and started to walk toward his vehicle.The father said he was able to get his child away from the man.

During the confrontation the suspect was struck several times in the face. He then got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male between 25 and 27, taller than 5’9” and with a skinny build.

His vehicle is described as a black Honda four-door with an older paint job; a white or silver pin stripe along the side, running from front to back; and a possible missing hubcap on its right rear tire.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or person matching the description is asked to contact the Newnan Police Department.
