UPS driver robbed in southwest Atlanta

Police said the gunman looked through the back of the truck and ultimately took the UPS driver's phone.

ATLANTA -- Police are investigating after a UPS driver was robbed at gunpoint in southwest Atlanta.

According to initial reports from the department, the crime happened just before 9:30 p.m. That was when officers were called to 1460 Allegheny St. where they met with the driver.

The preliminary investigation shows that the driver was approached by a man who pulled out a gun and then looked through the victim's truck. However, it's unknown if the suspect took anything from the back.

The driver, though, did say he took his phone before leaving on foot. Police have not released a description of the suspect and, as of 10:05 p.m., had not made any arrests.
