A suspicious package was located on 16th St SW on Monday.

The call came in around 3:30 a.m. after someone discovered what was described as a red bag with two fire extinguishers wrapped around it inside of a parking lot.

During the investigation, Atlanta police blocked off the area around IKEA for a couple of hours until it was determined that the package was not a threat.

In a statement to 11Alive, Atlanta police said "Upon arrival, SWAT and Homeland Security were both notified of the situation and responded to the scene to evaluate the package. The package was determined to be two fire extinguishers that posed no threat."

11Alive is working to gather more details and will update the story when more is available.
