ATLANTA, Ga -- Road reflectors can be see littered along side the highways of metro Atlanta. It’s an unfortunate casualty of clearing the roads after snow and ice.

It’s expensive too. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation public spokesperson Natalie Dale each reflector cost around 75 cents. The total replacement cost including labor is about $5 a reflector.

GDOT will research the number damaged reflectors at the end of the winter season. Then prioritize replacements during spring and summer.

But Dale says,”Reflective pavement markers are not mandated by the (FHWA) Federal Highway Administration.”
