The Nerveless Nocks: Generations of daredevils perform at Cherry Blossom Festival

The Nerveless Nocks perform daily at the Cherry Blossom Festival, but their history of death defying stunts goes back decades.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing, which means several jaw-dropping acts are in action in Central City Park.

One group of death-defying daredevils you can see at the festival are the Nerveless Nocks.

They say their performances have been wow-ing crowds for more than a century.

“The family actually originated back in 1840,” said performer Brad Keogh.

Now, the legacy lives on.

“My husband is nine generations and I am six generations in this business,” said performer Carolina Nock.

With her daredevil intuition, Nock also has her kids onboard.

“My kids do it too because they like it,” said Nock.

Along their tour, they’ve made some new additions, including some friends from ‘down under.’

“I’m from Brisbane, Australia,” said Keogh.

He says the adrenaline rush is what drew him to his job.

“Every show, you never know what’s going to happen, like accidents. So, every show, you get nervous, but the adrenaline is pumping and makes it all worth it,” said Keogh.

Beyond the adrenaline factor, it’s also a job he enjoys doing because he loves to see how the crowd reacts to their stunts.

After their shows at the Cherry Blossom Festival, the group will continue their tour across America.

“We’re headed to Alabama and then after that we’ll be headed to Houston for the Houston Children’s Festival,” said Keogh.

You can see the Nerveless Nocks three times a day at Central City Park until the festival ends.

The show times are noon, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
