HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- A local animal sanctuary is shaken after they say a thief made their way onto their property and stole one of their work trucks.

Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Locust Grove posted a message to their Facebook page Monday, asking for assistance.

“We are sorry to end the day on such a sad note, but we truly need your help,” the post reads. According to the organization, thieves broke in through the front gate of the property and took the work truck, which they use for daily maintenance of the sanctuary.

“Not only are we shaken by the boldness of these individuals, but this work truck is really something we can’t afford to lose,” they wrote.

The group said the truck was later recovered in Spaulding County, but when they got it back, it wasn’t running.

The organization is now turning to support from the community and asking for help. If anyone wishes to help, they can call 770-957-0888 or email the sanctuary at noah@noahs-ark.org.
