NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A 1-year-old girl died Tuesday after drowning in a bathtub in her Fernandina Beach home, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.
A 3-year-old girl and a 14-month-old girl were in a bathtub in a house in the 85000 block of Linda Hall Road in Fernandina Beach.
The mother told police she went out of the room for a few minutes and she returned to find the 14-month-old girl under the water. She called 911 and deputies responded and provided CPR to the child until Nassau County Rescue arrived and transported the child to Baptist-Nassau Hospital, an official told First Coast News.
The child made it to the hospital around 1:20 p.m., but died about an hour later, the official said.
