Vice President Mike Pence is planning to attend Savannah's major St. Patrick's Day parade next Saturday, March 17.

According to NBC affiliate WSAV in Savannah, sources have confirmed the vice president's visit. City leaders were informed a few weeks ago that Pence would attend.

Pence is also headlining the Georgia GOP's biggest fundraiser of the year, its President's Day dinner on March 23. Pence will be the keynote speaker at the event, being held at the Hilton Atlanta.

Georgia is the site of several nationally watched races this election season, including for governor.
