Warming centers open near you

If you have nowhere to go, make your way towards this warming shelter.

As temperatures drop overnight, several emergency warming shelters will be opening to those who need it.

CITY OF ATLANTA

The warming centers are open to men, women and children. Anyone who needs transportation to the warming shelters can call 404-546-2710. The locations are:

  • Old Adamsville Recreation Center, 3404 Delmar Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30331;
  • Central Park Recreational Center, 400 Merrits Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30308; and
  • Grant Park Recreation Center, 537 Park Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30312.

Open from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

DEKALB COUNTY

DeKalb Emergency Management Agency have three warming centers open

  • Fire Station 3, 100 N. Clarendon Ave., Avondale Estates
  • Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta
  • Fire Station 21, 1090 Crown Point Parkway, Atlanta

DOUGLAS COUNTY

First United Methodist Church

Open from 7 p.m. Jan. 16 to 8:30 a.m. Jan. 17

GWINNETT COUNTY

Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church

TROUP COUNTY

LaGrange-Troup Homeless Center

150 East Lukken Industrial Drive

Open 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Jan. 19

The LaGrange Housing Authority will offer free transportation.
