ATLANTA -- Authorities say no one was injured but several forced out of their homes after an apartment fire in northwest Atlanta.

The fire, originally called in as two-alarm, happened at Rolling Bends Apartments at 2500 Center Street NW. The cause isn't yet known, but fire officials believe it started in the bedroom of one of the apartments.

Firefighters contained the fire itself to the one apartment but at least seven others suffered smoke and water damage. As a result, 16 people were displaced. The American Red Cross is working with them to find shelter.
