ATLANTA -- Authorities are still investigating after a fatal shooting led to a SWAT response in West Atlanta.
Around 7 p.m., officers responded to a "person shot" call in the 1300 block of Bernard Street NW. But when they arrived, they found one person already dead.
A SWAT team was soon called out to the scene when officers learned that the suspected shooter might be in a nearby building. Officers were still working to make contact with the suspect as of about 9:45 p.m.
However, 11Alive's crews on the scene noticed the law enforcement presence at the location beginning to dwindle and later learned that SWAT teams found no one at the location.
Police believe the suspect is a female and was known to the victim. Atlanta PD are still investigating this incident and is asking anyone who may have information to please contact Crime Stoppers.
