ATLANTA - A woman was rescued from a fiery crash Tuesday morning.
Atlanta Police said a woman in her mid-30's ran off the road and hit a pole on the 800 block of Monroe Drive NE around 2 a.m. The jeep she was in caught fire.
"Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, but for whatever reason she did leave the roadway striking one power pole which caused the vehicle to turn over onto its side," said Capt. David Villaroel.
A passerby rushed to help the woman get out of the car. No one was injured, however the driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for a check-up.
Georgia Power arrived to repair the pole and restore power to the area.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
