ATLANTA -- Cathy Woolard, the third-place finisher in the November 7 election, is expected to announce her endorsement decision Wednesday in the Atlanta mayoral runoff. Woolard missed the runoff behind the two top vote-getters, Keisha Lance Bottoms and Mary Norwood.

Tuesday, Woolard hosted a forum between Bottoms and Norwood. Norwood packed the chapel in the Carter Center with her supporters. She won more than 16,000 votes in her third place finish, dominating precincts in East Atlanta and DeKalb County.

Woolard peppered her former opponents with questions about ethics, transportation and livability in Atlanta. The former city council president pressed Bottoms on when she would release her tax returns. "Tomorrow" was the answer, pending review by her accountant, who had been on holiday last week when Norwood released her tax returns.

Woolard pressed both candidates on transportation issues. Both Bottoms and Norwood pledged to add light rail to the city's Beltline, and both vowed to lobby the state for tax money for transit funding.

In response to Woolard's questions, both candidates vowed to support legislation to prohibit city council members from sending taxpayer-funded mail to constituents after filing notices-of-intent to run for office.
