ATLANTA -- A man accused of striking a U.S. Marshal with a vehicle has been arrested after eluding authorities for several days.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Southwest Regional Task Force were attempting to arrest 38-year-old Shusta Gumbs on Friday near West End Mall when the incident occurred. Authorities said Gumbs rammed a task force vehicle and then struck the Marshal, pinning him between two vehicles.

Gumbs fled the scene and remained on the run until Tuesday evening.

Marshals said that Gumbs was located and apprehended around 6:30 p.m. at an address off of Crystal Lake Road in Riverdale. Gumbs was arrested without incident after initially refusing to come out of the house, authorities said.

Gumbs was taken to Fulton County Jail, officials said. He had originally been wanted on a warrant out of Douglas County for failure to appear on weapons and narcotics charges.

The U.S. Marshal involved in Friday's incident was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
