GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Authorities say a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death has been arrested at a grocery store.

Authorities allege that Jessie Bodie stabbed 33-year-old Vera Tulbure multiple times at a home on Cresent Walk Lane in Suwanee on Monday. Tulbure was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where she later died.

Authorities activated a SWAT team to search for Bodie, but were not able to locate him on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, Gwinnett County Police said they received a tip that Bodie was at the Kroger on Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain. Officers were able to arrest Bodie without incident at the grocery.

Bodie is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault. He was expected to be booked into Gwinnett County Jail on Tuesday, police said.

Police said the couple had been together "a little more than a year."

"It is our hope that Vera’s family can begin the process of grieving knowing that Jesse has been apprehended," police said in a statement.
