Man accused of throwing bricks at cars on busy highway

On Dec. 28, deputies arrested 18-year-old Mackinly Graham Pritchard, of Dallas, Ga. He's charged with three counts of terroristic threats.

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- Police have arrested a man accused of throwing rocks, bricks and other objects at cars on a busy Paulding County highway.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, the incidents happened sporadically over the past several months on Ga. SR 61 South (Villa Rica Highway) between Winndale Road and Campground School Road.

On Dec. 22, three more vehicles were struck by objects. No one was injured.

The next day, someone called 911 to report several suspicious people in the area. Deputies located three men in the area of SR 61 South and Mustang Drive. After interviewing those men, authorities said they had identified a suspect.

On Dec. 28, deputies arrested 18-year-old Mackinly Graham Pritchard, of Dallas, Ga. He's charged with three counts of terroristic threats.

“This type of senseless lawlessness will not be tolerated in Paulding County," said Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge. "I commend our Deputies and Detectives for their hard work in putting this individual behind bars. Hopefully our citizens can travel down GA SR 61 South with a better sense of security now that Pritchard is in jail.”

Pritchard is being held at Paulding County Jail on a $8,450 bond.
