Mattie's Call issued for woman with Schizophrenia, last seen leaving Clayton County hospital

Authorities said Smith was discharged from Southern Regional Hospital around 8:00 a.m., Wednesday.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities have issued a Mattie's Call for a 57-year-old woman who they say was last seen at a south metro hospital.

The Clayton County Police Department issued the alert March 15 for 57-year-old Adeline Smith, the day after she was last seen.

Authorities said Smith was discharged from Southern Regional Hospital around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, at which time staff contacted her caregiver to pick her up. After waiting on her caregiver to arrive for more than two hours, investigators said Smith left the facility.

Officials say Smith has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and is traveling by unknown means.

Smith is described as a black female. No other physical description was provided by her caregiver regarding height and weight, officials said. In addition, the caregiver was only able to provide a black and white photo of Smith, seen below.

Anyone who may have information about where Smith is is asked to contact Det. T. Moore at 770-477-3641 or to dial 911.
