Daisy Ridley's sci-fi heroine Rey is becoming a bit of a Star Wars style icon, going from Jakku scavenger couture to Resistance chic — with the ultimate accessory, a lightsaber — in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
But Rey also wears red pretty well, too, as evidenced by this exclusive new IMAX poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi (in IMAX and regular theaters Dec. 15).
Now, one could see her crimson cloak as just a fresh fashion choice. ("New movie, new threads!" is probably something Han Solo said at least once.) However, Rey being clad in one of Darth Vader's favorite colors — and the preferred shade of the evil Sith — seems a little more than coincidental, especially after a recent trailer hinted at temptation coming from the dark side of the Force.
The poster also features Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) looking wise and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) looking ready for battle, plus appearances by General Leia (Carrie Fisher), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega), new character Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Chewbacca and the droid crew of BB-8, C-3PO and R2-D2.
There's a distinct lack of porgs so it's not perfect, but the thought of a Dark Rey makes up for it.
