Officials seek woman who abandoned newborn at an airport with note

The baby was left with a note that said: "Please help me, my mom had no idea she was pregnant. She is unable and unfit to take care of me."

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Tucson Airport Authority has released surveillance video showing a mother who abandoned her baby at a facility near the airport.

This is the first time we are seeing the woman and police still need help to identify her.

Authorities believe this woman gave birth to a boy Jan. 14 in a bathroom in Concourse B.

Police believe she then took the baby to a bathroom near the baggage claim to clean him up.

TAA says the woman then took the baby to another bathroom outside a rental car facility, where she left him with a handwritten note:

"Please help me, my mom had no idea she was pregnant. She is unable and unfit to take care of me. Please get me to the authorities so they can find me a good home. I just want what is best for him and that is not me. Please. I'm sorry."

The child is now in the care of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or 88Crime.
