Are you More Than Pink?

Susan G. Komen_April 2017

Meet Allison.  For her, pink is more than a color.  It means action.  She lost her mother to breast cancer, and she now runs the Race for the Cure every year to honor her mom and to raise funds to help others battle the disease.

Did you know every week 49 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in metro Atlanta? That’s enough women to fill every seat on a MARTA bus, with a few left standing. These women are mothers, sisters, aunts, friends.

And the fact is, in metro Atlanta, women are dying of breast cancer more often when compared to the US and Georgia as a whole.  And that has to change.  So, Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta fights breast cancer on two fronts - here at home with services for those who cannot afford them, and globally through cutting edge research to find the cures.

You can join Allison in taking action in the fight against breast cancer by participating in Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta Race for the Cure.

This year, the Race for the Cure is on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Lenox Square. It is open to everyone and all levels of fitness are welcome. Funds raised will support local education, screening and diagnostic programs as well as global research efforts to find cures.

Register today.

It’s time to go beyond breast cancer awareness; it’s time to take action! Together will Be Bold. Be Fearless. Be More Than Pink.
